Integrated Accessibility Standards Policy (IASP)

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA)

The following policy has been established by Sonic e‑Learning Inc. to govern the provision of services in accordance with Ontario Regulation 191/11, Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (the “Regulation”), under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (“AODA”).

These standards are intended to identify, remove, and prevent barriers to accessibility and to increase accessibility for persons with disabilities in the areas of information and communications and employment.

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. is governed by this policy, the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service Policy, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 in meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities.

Commitment

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. is committed to treating all people in a manner that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity and are committed to meeting the needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner.

We will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and by meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. This policy will be implemented in accordance with the timeframes established by the Regulation.

Self-Service Kiosks

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will consider accessibility when designing, procuring, or acquiring self‑service kiosks to better serve persons with disabilities.

Training Employees and Volunteers

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will provide training on the accessibility standards referenced in the Regulation and on the Ontario Human Rights Code as it pertains to persons with disabilities to:

  • All employees and volunteers

  • All persons involved in developing company policies

  • All individuals who provide goods, services, or facilities on behalf of Sonic e‑Learning Inc.

Training will be appropriate to the duties of each individual. Training will be provided during onboarding and when changes are made to accessibility policies.

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will maintain records of all accessibility training provided.

Information and Communication Standards
Feedback

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will ensure that its feedback processes are accessible to persons with disabilities, including by providing accessible formats and communication supports upon request.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports

Upon request, Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will provide, or arrange for the provision of, accessible formats and communication supports in a timely manner that considers the individual’s accessibility needs.

The company will consult with the person making the request to determine the suitability of an accessible format or communication support and will notify the public of their availability.

Accessible Websites and Web Content

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will ensure that all new internet website content conforms with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level A or AA, except where this is impracticable.

Employment Standards
Recruitment

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will notify employees and the public of the availability of accommodation for applicants with disabilities during recruitment.

Recruitment, Assessment, and Selection

Applicants selected to participate in an assessment or selection process will be notified that accommodations are available upon request. Upon request, Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will consult with the applicant and provide suitable accommodation based on accessibility needs.

Notice to Successful Applicants

When making an offer of employment, Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will inform successful applicants of its policies relating to accommodation for employees with disabilities.

Informing Employees of Supports

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will continue to inform employees of policies supporting employees with disabilities, including updates. This information will be provided to new employees as soon as practicable after employment begins.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports for Employees

Upon request, Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will consult with employees to provide or arrange accessible formats and communication supports for job‑related information and information generally available to other employees.

Workplace Emergency Response Information

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees with disabilities where required and where the need is known. With employee consent, this information will be shared with designated assistance providers.

Emergency response information will be reviewed when:

  • An employee moves to a different location

  • Accommodation needs are reviewed

  • Emergency response plans are updated

Performance Management, Career Development and Advancement & Redeployment

Sonic e‑Learning Inc. will consider the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities and individual accommodation plans when conducting performance management, career development, advancement, or redeployment.
